Chemistry prof to blog, teach from Copenhagen

December 8, 2009

Keith Peterman, professor of chemistry, will be in Copenhagen from Dec. 13 - 19 to do research for his upcoming book on climate change and to blog about the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15) for the York Daily Record.

Without missing a beat, Peterman will also teach three courses -- two senior-level inorganic chemistry classes and a freshman-level general chemistry class -- live from Copenhagen via Skype.  He believes that this will give students a real-world look at major environmental issues in real time.

“The students are reading the blog, and they are getting pretty excited about it,” said Peterman.

The COP15 brings together representation from governments from around the world along with NGOs to craft a post-Kyoto protocol.
