The Palm Beach (FL) Post interviewed Paul Doutrich, professor, history and political science, on a story on Columbus Day:
Columbus is a complex figure, one whose adventurous spirit changed the world but who used brutal tactics, said Paul Doutrich, a history professor at York College of Pennsylvania.
"But, by his standard, that's what he knew. By today's standards, these would be terribly unacceptable."
