Nov. 3 luncheon to discuss how stimulus package can help your business

The York College Women’s Business Center Organization (WBCO) will present a luncheon workshop, “How the Stimulus Package Can Help Your Business,” at 11:30 a.m., Nov. 3, in Alumni Hall, West Campus Community Center. Sam Reprogel, manager of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Harrisburg branch, will provide an overview of his organization, details on the Recovery Act and how the stimulus money is being utilized, and information on the Loan Enhancement Program.

The cost to attend the workshop is included in the annual WBCO membership. The fee for nonmembers is $20 payable with advance registration, which includes lunch, is required by Oct. 29. Reprogel is responsible for the delivery and management of Small Business Administration’s (SBA) financial and business development programs throughout the Central Pennsylvania area. He graduated from Gettysburg High School and then spent three years in the Army Security Agency, including a tour in Vietnam.  After earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Baltimore, he began his career at SBA.

During his 18 years with the Agency, Reprogel worked with the loan programs, leading the SBA’s Business Development activities in Maryland. He then moved on to GE Capital, where he continued developing small business through GE’s Small Business Finance arm, holding positions as business development executive and regional sales manager. He was named to his current position with the SBA in July 2009.

The Women's Business Center Organization was established in 2007 as an initiative of the J.D. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship at York College.
