Panel discussion on careers in investigation and security to be held at YCP

YORK, Pa. – York College will host a panel discussion on careers in investigation and security on Tuesday, April 14, at 10 a.m. in Buechel Lounge. The discussion, centered on career advancement, is co-sponsored by the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of ASIS International and the York College of Pennsylvania Criminal Justice Alumni Association.

In addition to providing career advancement strategies, the expert panel will be educating participants about their career options. The discussion is free and open to the public.

York College has been a leader in criminal justice education since 1969. It is a research-based program with an emphasis on practical application. York offers its students a unique blend of career enhancing opportunities including tuition waivers into investigative, supervisory and professional certification programs offered by the International Foundation for Protection Officers. York’s criminal justice students are required to complete an internship for graduation. They also have the opportunity to receive training and experience through part-time employment with the College’s Department of Campus Safety. Many students have earned their certified protection officer (CPO) designation while in college and moved on to careers with private investigative, corporate security and federal investigative agencies.
