During the 2009-10 academic year, York College provided $8.2 million in scholarship support to nearly 2,500 students. Some of those students and the generous benefactors who provided them with financial support gathered at the College’s 14th annual Scholarship Recognition Dinner in April.
The program included a vocal performance by The Rossums (Ciara, Carissa ’10, Corrinne ’12 and Casey) and a video featuring “A Day in the Life” of Madeleine Ludt ’10 and Ben Edwards ’11. Jessica Sneeringer ’11 (pictured with Dr. Luther Sowers), a junior elementary education major from Gettysburg, spoke on behalf of students who receive scholarships. She is the recipient of the Bill Goodling Teacher Term Scholarship and of the Seth and Maureen Feldman Term Scholarship. (Look for her thank-you letter in the upcoming issue of York College magazine.) “You are not only helping me, but you are giving each of my future students more opportunities inside the classroom,” she said.
