San Francisco natives Third Eye Blind formed in 1997; since then they have recorded three best-selling albums and assembled one career retrospective. Their first album was self-titled, “Third Eye Blind,” and was released in 1997, followed by “Blue” in 1999, and “Out of the Vein” in 2003. Their latest album, “Ursa Major,” was released in 2009. Third Eye Blind is best known for the singles “Semi-Charmed Life,” “How’s It Going to Be,” “Jumper” and “Never Let You Go,” as well as other popular songs such as “Graduate,” “Motorcycle Drive By” and “Wounded.” The band won the Billboard Music Award for “Modern Rock Track of the Year” in 1997, and was nominated for two American Music Awards for Favorite New Artist (Pop/Rock) and Favorite Artist in 1998.
The opening band will be Alpha Rev, an alternative rock band from Austin, Texas, formed by singer-songwriter Casey McPherson. The group will make its major label album debut on Hollywood Records with “New Morning.” Produced by David Kahne (Paul McCartney, Sublime, The Strokes), the album arrives in stores and at online retailers on April 20. The band’s songs have been featured on Bravo’s “NYC Prep,” the ABC Family hit “Greek” and the CW’s “Melrose Place.”
