FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

YORK, Pa.— York College of Pennsylvania’s student theatre troupe will present the play “Mother Courage and Her Children” at 7 p.m., April 1-4, in the Collegiate Performing Arts Center. The performances by The Players of York College are open to the public free of charge. More information is available by calling 717-815-1401.

Written by one of the greatest playwrights of the 20th century, Bertolt Brecht, “Mother Courage and Her Children” was Brecht’s attempt to counter fascism and Nazism. The play has a strong motif of the horrible effects of war, and the naïveté of people who expect to benefit financially from the devastation.

Pauline Katz of Somerville, Mass., a junior history education major, will direct “Mother Courage and Her Children.”
