York College of Pennsylvania has received accolades from a variety of guidebooks and websites, with several recognizing the College for the value it provides.
York College climbed to the #13 spot (from #16) among regional colleges in the North in the U.S. News and World Report’s 2011 Best Colleges rankings.
Parents & Colleges website also recognized York for the value it provides to students and their families, naming the College #8 in the Top 10 Best Value Private Colleges and Universities. Parents & Colleges created lists of the top ten schools in categories that matter most to parents and students by compiling nationally recognized surveys of schools, students, and published rankings, and integrating quantitative, publicly available information compiled by the U.S. Dept. of Education Center for Education Statistics.
Barron’s ranked York among only 231 national best buys in higher education, colleges and universities selected based on “the performance of their facilities, the depth and comprehensiveness of their curricula, the preparation of their students for lives after graduation, and the prices they charge for services.”
In addition, York College is one of 284 colleges and universities recognized for outreach efforts, financial aid opportunities, and student support services by the Center for Student Opportunity’s “2011 College Access & Opportunity Guide,” a comprehensive college guidebook designed to help low-income, first-generation college-bound students make their college dreams a reality.
And the College was once again ranked in the top 15 percent of colleges, universities, and trade schools nationwide when it comes to embracing America’s veterans as students, according to G.I. Jobs magazine. York College was named to the magazine’s 2011 list of Military Friendly Schools, which was compiled through research during which G.I. Jobs polled more than 7,000 schools nationwide.
