York hosts Nov. 19 talk on charitable gift strategies

York College has partnered with several local organizations, including Leave a Legacy York County, to host a talk on charitable gift strategies by Conrad Teitell.

 The event will be held on Nov. 19 in the College’s Collegiate Performing Arts Center. Registration and continental breakfast begin at 8:30 a.m., and the presentation by Teitell will run from 9 – 11 a.m.  Cost is $60 for credit (2 credit hours available for CPA, CLE, CFP, PA Insurance, CFRE) and $40 for non-credit. Conrad Teitell is a principal in the Connecticut and Florida-based law firm of Cummings & Lockwood, resident in the firm’s Stamford office. He is an adjunct professor (Masters Graduate Program in Estate Planning) at the University of Miami School of Law. He holds an LL.B. from Columbia University Law School and an LL.M. from New York University Law School. He lectures nationally on taxes and estate planning for associations, estate planning councils, universities, law schools, community foundations, hospitals, religious, health, social welfare, and other clubs and organizations.

During the Nov. 19 session, audience members will learn the latest techniques and developments for split-interest charitable gifts; how to choose wisely among life-income charitable gifts; gift-planning in hard economic times; drafting techniques for maximum flexibility; the latest rules on early termination of life-income gifts and dividing the assets between the life beneficiary and the charitable remainder organization; seizing opportunities and avoiding pitfalls; and patching up the other fellow’s shortfalls.
